Any person may apply to be banned from gambling. This request is made to the National Gambling Authority (ANJ). This prohibition is pronounced for a period that cannot be less than three years. It is tacitly renewable.

The Laboratory of Psychopathology and Health Processes of the University of Paris is currently conducting a study that aims to analyse the relationships between emotional functioning, impulsivity and gambling, in order to better define the profiles of gamblers and to help those who encounter addiction problems.
